The Wiggly Tooth

Laugh and Learn with Mrs. Thomas and her Kindergarten Class

Pumsy

IMG_0728Ms. Marchi brought a friend with her to visit our class named Pumsy. Pumsy is a gentle, quiet dragon. Students played a game where they practiced saying ” thank you” after another student complimented them. One student said “it makes your heart feel good” when someone says something nice to you. Another student commented that “it makes me feel like making a new friend with that person”.

Pumsy’s Gift

Pumsy brought a book called Nico and Lola by Meggan Hill. The story exemplifies how to be empathic through kindness. Each page had a message about kindness. Being kind is: smiling at someone, showing concern for others, setting a good example, remembering your manners, being a good listener, sticking together until the job is done, talking turns, helping others in need, sharing, giving from the heart and treating others how you’d like to be treated. Students agreed to care for Pumsy while he stays in our class for a few days.

Kolbe & Pumsy

Kolbe & Pumsy

Pumsy is a dragon puppet who is learning about liking herself and liking others. In the story, Pumsy was involved in the ‘Dragon Games.’ She was faced with the hard challenge of crossing the river on a log. Children connected to facing challenges. They recalled times when they had to work hard and their feelings of accomplishment once they completed the task. Pumsy believed she could do it and she did! Thank you to Mrs. Marchi and Pumsy for visiting our class.
