Harvest Time – Week 11 & 12

The plants were showing signs that it was time to harvest the potatoes. I cut the tops off before tipping the bucket over and picking out the potatoes. I started with five potatoes that yielded approximately 30 potatoes. After cleaning them up, I cooked them. These vegetables went from garden to table tonight. We made potato parfaits with all the fixings. Delicious!

Potatoes, Sunflowers & Beans – Week 7, 8, 9 & 10

The potato plants keep growing and growing. They are almost ready to harvest!

The sunflowers were replanted in week 8 after having too much water and rain. They are thriving again! However, there is an animal in my neighbourhood who likes to eat the sunflower and nasturtium plants. I wonder what kind of animal it is?

The beans were also replanted in week 8 but they did not survive. They have been composted and will help the garden grow next year.
