After teaching for more than a dozen years at Alex Aitken Elementary, I will be saying good-bye to this amazing school. Thank you for the opportunity to work with great students, teachers, support staff and administration over the years. I have truly enjoyed my time at Alex Aitken. However, I am excited about my new adventure. I look forward to working in another amazing school in School District 79.

Our Butterfly Garden
Over the Summer and into the Fall, our garden will be growing more abundant with green leaves growing and flowers blooming. Thank you to the parents and teachers who have volunteered their time over the summer months to water our garden and keep the plants growing. If you are playing at the school, take a walk and check out the gardens.

A sincere thank you to the wonderful students and parents for a fabulous year. This is a special group of children whom I have loved teaching. I hope everyone enjoys their summer vacation. And remember, I am just around the corner from the Grade 1’s so now we get to be neighbours!

Before a game of California Kickball with Ms. Abgrall’s class, we took a moment to lie on the grass and listen to the sounds of nature. Many embraced this quiet moment, while a few found it difficult to be still. With summer around the corner, everyone will have a chance to relax, enjoying their quiet moments while on vacation.

Nicholas On His Horse
A horse at school! Our big buddy class had ‘Pet Day’, so Nicholas brought his pet horse. Students learned about his horse and how he cares for her. It was neat to see Nicholas riding his horse at different speeds around the school field. Afterwards, students helped groom the horse’s coat.

It was a fun-filled morning. After running races, students made their way to a variety of different events. They participated in an obstacle race, sack race, mini-soccer game, sidewalk chalk, frisbee toss, parachute games, skipping, playground obstacle and bean bag toss. What a great way to spend the morning – outside actively enjoying the sunshine.
